5 Reasons to Love Blicks

A friend recently asked me why I’m always raving about Blick Art Materials.

If you’ve ever dealt with their sales staff or customer service, you already know the answer to that question, otherwise you may be just as lost as she was.

Quite simply, Blicks adds a whole new dimension to customer service that makes working with them a real pleasure!

Reason #1: Every employee in their stores is an artist.

What this means is that when you walk into the store you are going to find people who are as passionate about art as you are & they are dedicated to helping you find exactly what you need to achieve the results you’re looking for. 

This is a huge step up from most of the alternatives out there where the employees know where things are but most don’t have a clue which grounding medium is going to work best with cotton fiber paper!

Reason #2: No pressure sales.

While they are always available to give helpful suggestions, and trust me, I need usually need suggestions, I’ve never once felt like I was being steered toward the most expensive alternative.  As a matter of fact, the last time I was in the store, the assistant that I was working with encouraged me to try the least expensive product because it would work better on the surface I was working on than the most expensive.  How great is that?!?

Reason #3: Their phenomenal phone support.

On more than one occasion I’ve been stuck trying to figure out which of a half-dozen similar items would work best for what I want to do while browsing through the website and had to call customer service.

The phone staff has helped me make exactly the right choice for a product that fit my needs exactly, going so far as to sit on the phone with me for up to an hour as we searched through the product line going over each choice feature by feature.

I know, I ‘m a pain in the rear!

Reason #4: Got a problem with an order? No problem!

I’ve only had a problem with one product I’ve ordered through the online store.  It was a marker, one out of the 80 open stock Promarkers I ordered.  It arrive dried out.  I sent them and email explaining the problem & within an hour I got a note back saying that they had sent out a new one at no cost, not even shipping… and I didn’t have to return the defunct marker.

Mine wasn’t a unique experience either.  Next time you visit the website, take a look at a few product reviews (I’m a huge fan of product reviews).  You’ll notice that below the poor reviews due to products arriving broken or not working properly there is a note from Blicks offering to replace it free of charge.

Not only do they read their customers reviews, they respond to them in a way that turns disgruntled customers into happy, loyal, returning customers. It’s a good policy that you don’t see often today.

Reason #5: Price.

I’m an avid price shopper, so before I buy anything I check through my entire list of suppliers. I can honestly say that Blicks everyday prices are almost always lower than everywhere else I look, and even when they aren’t, they are usually so close to the next lowest price that it’s not worth putting in a separate order.

In fact, if you order art supplies from Amazon, you may have noticed that many of their listings are actually from Blicks, and they’re usually the best priced listings too.
